So I was thinking about doing a Lennon song, and went back and forth, and then I remembered that, really, John Lennon would be pissed at us making such a big deal about his death. That there’s so much more to be pissed off about, and so much more to pay attention to and care about.

All I know, is that without Lennon, there’s a very solid chance that I’d never have gotten into music, which is one of the most important parts of my life. There’s an even larger chance that none of the bands I listen to now would exist as they do.

He may not have believed in Beatles. Or himself as anything other than just “a band that made it very very big,” but I do. And I know a lot of other people who do, too.
